Greetings from ASTATE! My name is Pamela Bowie and I am your recruiter at Arkansas State. This letter is your personal invitation to participate in the first Little Rock edition of ASTATE Admit and Offer Day! The event will be at the Holiday Inn Presidential off of Interstate 30 in Little Rock from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 13. You may arrive any time between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Here is what you need to do to participate:
- Complete application for admission and submit a $15 application fee. Paper applications will be available at the event, or you can complete the application and submit the fee online at http://www.astate.edu before midnight on Sunday, October 11.
- Bring an official high school transcript with ACT and/or SAT test scores and shot records. Request this from your high school counselor or registrar before the day of the event. Make sure it is given to you in a sealed envelope and includes all test scores and shot records. DO NOT OPEN THE ENVELOPE. The transcript must be in the original, unopened envelope in order to be considered official.
As long as you have a 17 on the ACT and a 2.5 cumulative GPA you will be admitted that night! Students with at least a 22 on the ACT and a 3.0 cumulative GPA will receive a letter of acceptance to Arkansas State as well as a letter offering one of our institutional scholarships. As noted above, the scholarship deadline is December 1, 2009. There will be no scholarship awarding after December 1. Students must have all admissions materials in the admissions office by December 1. Scholarships are not being awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
