The Nose Knows: APCS Drama Club announces CYRANO DE BERGERAC as Spring Play!
This year's APCS Drama Club spring play will be the perennially popular swashbuckling comedy-romance CYRANO DE BERGERAC by Edmond Rostand (Brian Hooker translation). A dinner-theater performance will be staged at the Summit Church at 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2010.
Auditions will be held on Thursday, February 4, and Friday, February 5, at 4:00 p.m. in Room A-3. Callbacks are scheduled for Monday, February 8, at 4:00 p.m. All students in grades 9-12 are eligible to try out. Theatrical experience or training, though helpful, is not necessary. No prepared monologue is required. The audition process involves reading different parts in selected scenes from the play.
Casting will be announced by the end of next week. Rehearsals will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Schedule conflicts (jobs, sports, choir) will be minimized to the extent possible.
Adult volunteers are needed for costumes, props, set pieces, dinner theater, etc. We will need about ten musketeer-style blunted plastic fencing foils.
Thanks to the Summit Church for its generosity and to all of you for your support!
Bill Jones, Director
